Microsoft Outlook Express Email Setup Instructions

To setup your Zipline email account in Outlook Express you must first open Outlook express. This can be done by going clicking Start, choosing All Programs from the menu and then clicking the Outlook Express icon.

If you have never used Outlook Express before and this is your first time running the program please complete the next three steps. If you already have an email configured you can skip to step 4.

1.) Outlook Express has a startup tutorial, which will walk you through configuring some of your initial settings. Once it opens you will be asked if you want to open this account automatically every time you start Outlook Express. (We suggest choosing Yes)

2.) Next you will be asked, "When Outlook Express starts, go directly to my Inbox." We suggest choosing Yes again, as Outlook Express directs all incoming mail to the inbox so it makes sense to bypass the start page.

3.) If you don't see the list of folders and contacts on the left, click Layout on the View menu. Click Contacts and Folder List to check them, and then click OK.

Account Configuration:

Note: For this area we refer to your domain. This refers to your web address e.g. gozipline.com.

4) Start Outlook Express, and on the Tools menu, click Accounts. If the Internet Connection Wizard starts up automatically, skip ahead to step 6.

5) Click Add, and then click Mail to open the Internet Connection Wizard.

6) On the Your Name page of the wizard, type your name as you want it to appear to everyone who gets e-mail from you, and then click Next. Most people use their full name, but you can use any name?even a nickname?that people will recognize.

7) On the Internet Explorer Address page, type your e-mail address, and then click Next. (Full email address name@domain.com.)

8.) On the E-mail Server Names page input the following information.
My incoming mail server is a POP3 server: POP3
Incoming Mail(POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server: mail.domain.com or mail.gozipline.com

9.) On the Internet Mail Logon page, type your account name (full email name@domain.com) and password.

10) Click Next, and then click Finish. You're ready to send your first e-mail!
