With Spokane competing for national acceptance as a skating fan’s town, the event’s promoter, Star USA, asked Zipline to help brand the upcoming 2007 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Ticket purchasers are made up of both local fans and well as followers from around the county. The marketing for this event needed to exceed that of efforts in larger markets to overcome the small market stereo-types.
The home page sets the stage for the entire experience. A sense of excitement and urgency was created with a countdown clock; top skaters were featured to illustrate the caliber of the event; easy to use navigation, with useful content showed the level of event planning. All these things, both form and function blended together to create a positive experience for the user, converting browsers into buyers.
Our coordinated effort of print, web and signage pieces have helped to make the 2007 event the most successful national skating championships yet. This hospitality business rents unused luxury lake homes while not in use by their owners. Catering to upscale clientele, Coeur d’Alene Vacation rentals needed an online presence that was representative of both the houses that they rent, as well as the people renting them. Most of their business originates from the website, so functionality was also very important to creating a positive experience.
